It's much easier to make power factor with a heavier bullet. It's also easier to knock down steel targets with 124 or 147gr over 115. The heavier bullet will make a bit of difference. Also, felt recoil is different between bullet weights. 115gr can be snappy, while 147gr can be more of a push feeling.124 will run better usually due to the increased force. Saying that, if you are using a compact or subcompact, running 115 can noticeable reduce snappiness. More bullet means more support for greater expansion & more wt retention for deeper penetration. Generally recoil will feel a bit softer as the bullet wt goes up. In short, for a given power factor, a 124 will actually shoot softer than a 115, and the perceived recoil for most shooters will be an even greater, downward difference.
