Basically its just a switch that increases the rpm slightly in order to warm the engine faster. As far as I know, there is no way to adjust/override the idle timing because it is a safety feature. Yeah I would definitely check, when your trucks wants to do a idle shutdown, push in the tractor brake and see if it still does the shutdown, if it doesn't then you be good to chock your wheels while resting, just remember to pull it back out before your open a door
