Just started a fresh character to pass an hour this morning and grabbed myself a rapier, at +4 it's already crushed the last giant, pursuer and dragonrider first try, including runs to the bosses. I'm not exactly great at DS2 but my god this thing's R1 feels so safe to punish enemies with, think I've had to down 2-3 chugs ... Oh and it can still shield-poke. Estoc does wonders in both pvp and pve. The swipe is great, bypassing shields is a plus, str scaling is typically stronger than dex scaling, and it deals double the poise damage of the rapier, which most opponents will assume it is. If you're using two weapons, and weapon A needs 20 strength and 10 dex, and weapon B needs 5 strength, 20 dex and 10 faith, you'll need at least 30 strength, 30 dex and 15 faith to powerstance them.
