Prior to Pawnee, I worked for seven years in another Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) providing community services to youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). Through my education, I received experience working in a community resource center and with a second CMHC in their school-based mental health program. Pawnee Mental Health Services is a certified Community Mental Health Center and therefore operates through federal and state funds made possible by the Community Mental Health Act. The purpose of these funds to make diagnosis and treatment available to low-income and indigent individuals. The services are either free or under a sliding-scale. ….
