That one is a little bit of extra grind and gives you the Kettle Nexus, a monk weapon. ... Completing the ARR full relic weapon quest does allow you to skip the first step of HW relic weapon quest, but you have to give away the ARR weapon and the step that it skips isn't even that long. So pretty much, you don't need to worry about the older relic weapons if you want to use a new one.

The ARR relic grind has already been nerfed as far as the devs are going to do it at this point. Pre-Heavensward launch, those weapons were endgame, and each step was much harder.
