Jul 28, 2016 · Peer education is a much-used approach to health education with young people and marginalised groups. Rarely, however, has the concept been interrogated for its meaning and usefulness, despite pleas for the importance of doing so going back several decades. various possibilities of interaction between peer education and the programmatic contexts in which it is implemented. In doing so, we aim to offer a unifying definition of the purpose and nature of the peer educator role, identify best practices for developing peer education programs, and further establish peer education as a prominent field
