5x5 parity algorithms

this is the single parity. it is similar to the revenge parity and the same alg can be used. There are a couple of algs for this case, but this one seems to be the most popular. you can usually avoid this case by itself with a good look ahead and instead get one of the easier parity situations. like the 4x4, there are faster execution algs to get rid of the parity, this alg is typically used ... .

Well 5x5 does take longer, but that's because it has more pieces (duh) but 4x4 has 3 algorithms that u need to learn, for 5x5 u already know 1 of the same algorithms, and the other algorithm just has one different move from a other one, and 5x5 doesn't even have PLL parity so yeah, 5x5 is easier but takes longer to solve. You don't actually have to know any extra algs to solve the 7x7x7 if you can already solve the 5x5x5. There are only 2 algs I use for solving the last edges on big cubes, the "flip" alg and the parity alg. Flip alg: Dd R U R' F R' F' R Dd'. ( Replace Dd and Dd' with whichever layer needs to be "flipped")

Apply the inverse rotations of the backward algorithm to revert the cube to the solved cube (or the initial position). Let's take a short algorithm for the demonstration, the Cross: U F B’ L2 U2 L2 F’ B U2 L2 U. Written backwards: U L2 U2 B F’ L2 U2 L2 B’ F U. Replace the moves with the inverse rotations: U’ L2 U2 B’ F L2 U2 L2 B F ...Here’s an example of odd parity. The transmitted message 01000000 has only one “1” in it. Converting this to odd parity adds a zero, which yields 0 01000000. The total number of “1” digits in the message remains one, which is an odd number. In case of the even layered Cubes there are hidden centers (imagine your 4x4 as a 5x5 without centers). Even though you don't see it on the outside, one of the inner edge centers is flipped, causing the parity on the 4x4. Here is some more information about parity on twisty puzzle in general: Parity Post...A "Brief" explanation; Parity Clarity ...

The PLL parity algorithm does preserve all pieces but the switched edge pieces, and therefore can be used at the end of the solving (after solving all other last layer pieces). The probability to encounter a PLL parity during a 4x4 solve is 50% Note! You might encounter a weird PLL case, where all pieces are solved but 2 corners for example ...5x5 Last Two Edge Algorithms. These are last two edges cases on a 5x5 cube. I highly recommend learning them because not only can they be used on 5x5 they can be used on bigger cubes and cuboids making them very useful to learn. This is a case you more than likely already know but I felt it only made sense to include it anyways.Solve the edges, possibly solve parity*, and then solve the corners. *If the number of letters memorized for edges/corners are both odd, then do the parity algorithm between solving edges and solving corners. Note: The number of letters for corners/edges must always be both even or both odd. Simply take your time and learn the following 12 algorithms for the 5x5 L2E.

The Last 2 Edges (L2E) can be solved with the algorithms below. Once completed, the cube can be solved like a regular 3x3x3 puzzle (Reduction). ….

This is visible as there is only one edge left unsolved (the centre edge piece is flipped in its place), as shown in Figure 9.
