Personally the only value I see in it is to clear the shared inventory slot up to be able to be used for more important things :)

They'll get a full set of exotic gear with celestial stats and the Level-80 Boost Package which contains 2g, some dyes, food and 5 teleport to friend items, among other things. The game gave me a free boost. I expected it'd be like WoW where you start at the lowest level of the new zones. But apparently GW2 doesn't do level increases. So now I'm actually max level with no knowledge of the game. To be fair, I've boosted in WoW and FFXIV and never had a problem since they throw you in the new content where you need to ...But that doesn't mean that the level process might not be beneficial for learning more of your skills and traits.
