I will list all I've done so far: 1.Set timing at o degrees as per manual (yes I unplugged advace bypass) Still pings. 2.Set at -1 and -2 degrees. I replaced the throttle position sensor, EGR, Idle air control, fuel filter, new plugs, cap n rotor chasing the stumbling and pulsating rpm. Stranded me 30 feet up when the motor stumbled and died today so that wasn't too fun.On a 99 Vortec motor put #1 at TDC look at the top of the distributer housing and you will see 2 marks a 6 and a 8 you will line the tip of the rotor up with the 6 or the 8 depending on if you have a V6 or a V8.
