Am currently Lvl 5 and went Bard 4 / Warlock 1. I picked up Warlock on Level 2 and focused Bard after that to get an ASI asap, for beyond level 5 I think I'll go Warlock until I reach Warlock 3 to get Invocations and Pact of the Blade.

Definitely not true for bladelock. Hex applies to all attacks. Dual wielding adds an extra attack so it's a pretty significant increase. You are entitled to your opinion, but most of the time dual-weilding or two handed weapons, on average, deal more damage.
