The red dot is so clean and less bulky than pso. Basic and cheap prapor 4x. If you are doing good with irons just spend less on the more accurate version as well. I personally don't like many of the early Russian scopes but the OKS-Dovetail one iirc and the 4x from prapor I can deal with. You can't really use sights with NVGs, because they have a very limited focal range. Not sure the correct term, but you'll either have the sights in focus and the target blurry, or vice versa. That's what optics like eotechs and red dots are about.
