To be clear, when we say non-traditional education, we're talking about learning outside traditional methods such as a college, university or trade school. Obvious differences include costs, time commitment, government assistance, and locale. Traditional education typically provides a lot of structure, discipline, rules, and resources.'Non-traditional' students, for the purpose of this study, were defined as mature students who were returning to higher education after a considerable break.
