The Hearing Aid Project – KU Medical Center campus audiology doctoral students in their second semester of the program are eligible to apply. Providing oversight of the inventory, this student manager position sorts donated hearing aids, sends and receives hearing aids for repair, and works with Sertoma staff to run the project. An audiologist or other trained personnel uses an audiometer together with special audiometric testing techniques to determine the hearing threshold and to identify as well as quantify the degree of hearing loss of a person.
