Side brush roomba not spinning
thanks. This is the first time we used it. I will check but I would be surprised if that was the issue. At first it would spin on the hardwood floor and stop when it got on a rug. Then shortly thereafter it stopped spinning altogether. If it’s hair, use a Philips head screwdriver and remove the one screw, clean the hair, reattach. Now my main brushes do not spin. I took the bin out and watched and they did not spin. I did the reset thing by holding the dock and spot buttons down, still no spin. I ran the welcome to my roomba demo and when it talked about the brushes and vacuum part, there was no response from the roomba. The side brush spun happily.

Easy to fix if you don't want to replace it. Take off the rear cover, remove the side brush module. There's a couple tabs and a screw to get the side brush module open. Once open, use some light oil so the gears don't bind against the plastic housing. Put back together, no problems on mine since doing this repair.Flip the Roomba over on its back. Remove the wheel spring from the holder that contains the gearbox. Use a screwdriver (Phillips Head) to remove the side motor holder. Disconnect the side motor from the motherboard.
