There is no hard and fast rule that works for every car, so one of the challenges of a new car is to find out what's best. After 2k miles on my 2011 Advanced, The oils is still at 82% of life.

Now with newer technologies, tighter tolerances and better oils it's not beyond anyone to go quite a bit longer. However, it's important to get that first oil change out (I changed mine at 800 miles).
