About a year ago the Check Engine/Emmisions system message popped up. the VSA Inop would light intermittently. I took it to my mechanic and he cleared the codes w/ an agreement to bring it back if the warning lights came on again. Might sounds crazy, and not related... but check the air intake pipe, you might have an air leak or worn pipe. The VTM4 system utilizes Engine speed as reference, air leak will provoke bad flow meter measurement, increasing the engine speed above commanded by the ECM (is not a noticeable increment, just a hair of difference between engine commanded and actual speed will trigger the FC)

VTM-4 and TPMS went away after few miles, but engine light is still there. I also observed - when I go beyond 69-70 MPH, the VTM-4 comes back. Anything lower, the VTM-4 does not come.
