So far, I've been using Contraverse Hold and have been having decent success with it (Though my roll could be much better). Right now I'm looking at Secant Filaments as another option. They let me use Void Buddy in addition to Devour, provide Devour to myself upon entering my Empowering Rift, AND give anyone standing in the Rift free Overload ... At 7 you get 46% energy back, and at 6 you get 42% back. Doubling up is therefore pretty worth it, but on a contraverse build I think OPs set up is the best. 4 charge from just 2 orbs with stacks on stacks, 42% from 2 kick-starts but you still get to make an orb on grenade kills. It's the best set up IMO. ….

Its more of a backup in case you throw your grenade without armor charges and dont hit anything. Also in endgame content you cant always collect your orbs, so high discipline helps and in low content stats/builds dont matter anyway. 1.
