I got an X56 in ~December 2022, same boat as you: first Hotas, don’t know what’s out there or if I’ll like it, figured Logitech is a well-known name. Pros: Tons of buttons on the throttle. Could basically map everything in Elite. It is a hotas. You’ll get to experience what all the hotas buzz is about—it’s a fun way to play sims. Cons:Join r/HOTAS to get much more detailed explanation, why best entry HOTAS is VKB Gladiator NXT + Thrustmaster TWCS throttle. Anything else cheaper is low quality or durability HOTAS. If your budget is sufficient, buy directly Gladiator NXT. I've been playing KSP with a Saitek X52 HOTAS for a few months. At first, it was exciting to get to play KSP with semi-realistic controls. Then came the input lag, which ruined my fun completely. I tried multiple solutions, including removing the Saitek software and installing Universal Joystick Remapper and VJoy. As far as price goes the warthog hotas was easily half the price of the vkb or virpil which didn't include a throttle. So as far as quality goes for the price of a complete virpil hotas I would expect it to be better than the TM. Remember I got the complete hotas for £350. You can't even get a decent vkb or virpil joystick for that.
