A lot of places are pretty aggressive in the cut for an ACRO or 509T because of the clamp-on nature of the optic. They can mill the sides lower them the center without risk to the slide and the clamp style optics happen to be lower on the sides then the center. The ACRO body is relatively long as well. I believe you'd have to mill off the front frame rails of a p226. The p229 is a whole separate thing. Being designed for 40 cal and being produced mostly in the United States from a one piece slide that milled.
