Feb 6, 2016. #1. I am new to Tractors. I purchased a Ford 8n and noticed the hydraulics would drift down and would not lift all the way when I had a load. I replaced the piston, safety valve and hydraulic fluid and it no longer drifts down. However, when I move the touch control lever to the top to raise the hydraulics with a load it will raid ...Ford changed the 1939 spec of 80/90w oil to UTF years ago. Any UTF that meets the Ford spec M2C134D will work fine in your N tractor. Just read the label on the container. I use the UTF from TSC year around here in VA. You will find the UTF to work a lot better below 32* F than 80/90 w oil. Need to go ahead and drain the oil if you do this as you may drop contaminants in it. you will need 4.5 - 5 g's of either NH M2C134d style fluid ( UTF fluid from tractor supply is fine.. and cheaper ).. or 90wt gl-1 or 3 type oil. napa sells 90wt 5g's of gl-1 oil for about 25$ part number 65-205. The new 8N is a bit larger than the original one and in total it measures in at 122 in. in length with the 3-point horizontal, 68.3 in. minimum width, and 97.4 in. high with the roll bar upright. The unit has a ground clearance of 12.3 in. New Holland has brought back an icon in North American farming for the new millennium.
