my other schiit gear runs what i consider to be a "normal" warm. the jot2 runs maybe a bit warmer but doesnt really concern me. i know the psu is inside the unit which generates heat unlike my other gear. the BF2 though, damn. that mofo is toasty. the sides are very, very warm and if i lift the jot off the top, the bf2 is really hot. it seems ...And I’ll have a full review of the Bifrost 2 on here shortly. So yeah. I don’t blame anyone for preferring the J2 to something like the Bifrost. The J2 is more technical, I think, while still being natural sounding and not dry, and is fundamentally a very good DAC in my opinion.
